Im having the same peoblem im going to try to go down a hook size because its just getting bigger and bigger.
I had the same problem. Just got wider and wider. I have made a dozen of this pattern for my friend who is going through cancer. I made one for my grandson, age 14, one for my little grandson 18 months , one for a stepgrand age I think that's all I had great success with this pattern. I made the chemo hats with cotton yarn. But for the life of me I can't see getting it done in 30 minutes. You could then save the instructions or just delete it after you print.
To highlight, position you cursor at the last word then press and hold the right mouse button. Drag the mouse cursor up to the beginning of the instructions and let go. The instructions will be highlighted. I go from the bottom up because it is easier to control the page movement. This only works for free patterns, won't work for. Just made my first beanie hat. I love it and the crab stitch really finishes the hat off. I know I will be using it a lot.
Thanks for sharing. I chained 2 at the end of each round like the pattern says. When I slip stitch at the end of the round, the chain 2 leaves a noticeable gap in the hat! How do I get rid of this gap while crocheting? I loved this hat so much I made enough for all my nieces.
I was ill so this helped me at least something for Christmas.
spielelieferant.de/error/single/2117.php Thank you so much! With a few adjustments, I turned several into slouchy hat's. So fast and fun. I love this very quick but cute hat. This is my third crochet project.
I made it with the left over yarn from my first project which was a double crochet scarf. Started it last night and finished this morning. Thank you so much. Hi Sharon! I am so glad to hear this! Thank you for stopping back by, and for sharing the love. Instead of using 2 strands of a 4, can U use a bulky or 5 yarn? What size hook would U use if a 5 would work?
I used super bulky, L hook and only increased 4 times. Hat is for my sons very large head. I would have only increased 3 times for me. I'm new to crocheting, sort of, and am trying this easy beanie. What I can't figure out is how to get the counts correct.
This means you will have 2 DCs in 8 stitched and 1 DC in the other 8. Hope this makes sense to you. I posted this to my group, then went about making the hat. It was so tight with a J it made a bowl with 8 stitches so I jumped to a K hook and had the same issue. So in the interest of not giving up I started over with 10 in the MC.

Kids Exclamation Mark Baseball Hat. Cut yarn leaving a short tail to finish off the project. Generally, where would these hats fall on the ear?
When I checked my group this morning I discovered another crocheter had the same issue in size. Knowing that he, like myself, crochets a very tight stitch I decided it was our issue perhaps and not yours. At any rate it worked just right at 10, 20, 30, 40, an 50 on the increases. Just thought you would like to know in case anyone else has this issue. Thanks, Gloria. Thank you for this! I was having the same problem and just thought it was me. I'm a little confused on what to do with round 16 of the adult sized hat. Do you mind clarifying what the pattern says? This is where you are evening out your rounds.
The tops of the shell get sc's and the lower parts get hdc's. You will slip stitch over to the top of the shell from round 15 to start this repeating pattern. Thanks for your pattern I made a version without ear flaps for my daughter today and she loves it. Thank you, Kirsten! I've enjoyed getting lost for a little while in here. You're very welcome!
I'm glad you've enjoyed your stay so much! It's a joy to design for others. Thank you so much for sharing your pattern.

Thank you so much for this lovely pattern…. I slipped stitched to the middle of the shell but what join are you referring to when stated I have to place a sc? The "join" reference shouldn't have been there. Just sl st up to the top of the shell, and ch 1, sc in that same stitch at the top of the shell. I'm sorry about the confusion—the pattern has been fixed! My only issue is that I've tried this 3x and it still comes out too small. I've gone up a hook size and relaxed my tension, but it's still really small. Is anyone else having this issue?
I've not heard of others having sizing issues with this so far, but if one hook size isn't working, you might try going up a second hook size. I crochet really loosely. Make sure your yarn is the right thickness. I eventually found a thick DK and it has worked out great using a size 4mm hook.
This pattern was written in American terms, and uses worsted weight for sizing, so yes, if you live in other parts of the world you may need to experiment. That's great! Thank you for the pattern! I have just finished making the hat for my granddaughter. It will be her birthday present! I Love your pattern and would like to say a big thank you for sharing it. You really are very kind. Just completed this hat but it looks like from your pictures you have a final row after you add the ear flaps.
Is it a sc in 3rd loop? Thanks for the beautiful pattern! Working in the 3rd loop of a hdc gives a similar look as working a BPhdc, but it is a different stitch. Hey this is a beautiful creation of yours!! Thanks for sharing it with all of us! I am having trouble inserting my hook for the first post stitches with only 1 chain, never done post stitched and having trouble with them.
Hat is sooo beautiful!
